ABOUT THE ARTIST
Claudia Tay is an artist and creative technologist whose work explores the relationship between humanity and technology. She attained a BA in Visual Studies from Ringling College of Art and Design and is currently pursuing an MFA in Computer Arts at School of Visual Arts NYC. She pursues whatever catches her curiosity; her previous work runs the gamut from design and animation, to full dome video, to interactive installations.
The significance of the individual human experience is always at the centre of her work. She believes people—gestalt webs of thought, emotion, and physicality—ought to be the central focus when creating any artwork or product, and strives to create work that evokes curiosity and wonder in others. Her recent line of inquiry has been user interface and experience in virtual reality, a nascent frontier for exploration. Her work can be found at www.tayclaudia.com or @claudia.creates on Instagram. |

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jaxton Su (b. 1988) is an independent artist/curator. He holds a Master of Fine Art from The Glasgow School of Art (UK) and lectures at Nanyang Technological University. He has presented internationally in an array of festivals, residencies and exhibitions including Taiwan Annual, Geumgang Nature Art Biennale, LightNight Liverpool, SIM Residency Iceland, and Art Safiental. Jaxton enjoys experimenting with the materialities of different mediums and objects, drawing inspirations from their perceived notions and origins. His research interests include geology and psychology, where he attempts to bridge metaphorical parallels between the sublimity of nature and the human mind. Exploring his ideas through speculative and emblematic spaces or subjects in paintings, installations and video art, he hopes that his artistic vision will present a multifaceted dimension for reflection into issues surrounding our everyday realities.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jo is an artist working with imaginations of digital and physical spaces that question the role of creativity and agency in our increasingly automated world where views of “machine as tool” and “machine as creator” are being challenged. Jo uses emerging digital technologies to practice a range of modes in space-making, some of which include speculative fiction and visuals using machine learning, virtual reality, and large-scale projections.
Jo’s recent visual works are collaborative efforts where the decision-making in the visual direction of each work alternates between Jo and popular machine learning framework GAN. The visual language of these works live between the built and the natural environment, amorphous and discrete forms, and hand-crafted and computer-generated images. Her work often reflects on the ways in which we perceive and learn from patterns from our surroundings and explores the persisting question of being human in an age of ubiquitous autonomous machines. |
